What does it cost to become a Freemason?
There are certain costs involved with becoming a Freemason and joining a Lodge.
Support for charities through the Lodge is an important part of membership. However, there is absolutely no pressure or obligation to contribute any particular amount at any particular time. Amounts donated are entirely at the discretion of the individual and must be related to personal circumstances and to what he believes he can reasonably afford.
In addition, there is a joining fee which, for Hegeston Lodge, is currently £85 and an annual subscription fee which is currently £230. This subscription includes the cost of attendance at our four meetings per year together with the 3 course dinner which follows each meeting - referred to in Freemaonry as the Festive Board
